Why pay for a lawyer when you did nothing wrong?

We frequently meet with potential clients who did not do anything wrong.  It is not uncommon for a person to go the District Court commissioner to claim another person committed a crime against them.  Typical cases involve angry neighbors, jealous ex-boyfriends, or just plain crazy people.  Unfortunately, people with no experience with the criminal justice system who assume that everything will resolve it self properly are in the most danger of suffering grave consequences.  People who know how the system works (often that means people with frequent contacts in the system) know how to abuse the process to mistreat someone else.  The biggest myth of the criminal justice system is “innocent until proven guilty.”  The fact is that if you are charged with a crime, even if the charge is an outrageous lie made by someone with a vendetta against you, no one will believe a word you say because you are the “defendant.”  The innocent person is the person most in need of an experienced lawyer who knows how to get the police and prosecutors to listen to the truth.  If you feel you are in this situation, please contact us to set up a free consultation.  “The truth will set you free” only if you can make sure that the truth will be heard.  Dino
